This tour is taking an excursion around Jaipur looking at the highlights of the city- Amber Palace, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal in your car.
Hawa Mahal
We will meet at Hawa Mahal and start the tour from here. Palace of winds is a photostop, where we will discuss its history and move to our next monument. Jaipur’s most-distinctive landmark, the Hawa Mahal is an extraordinary pink-painted, delicately honeycombed hive that rises a dizzying five storeys. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the life and processions of the city.
Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.
We will stop at the beautiful water palace on our way to City Palace. it is a photostop.
We will now visit City Palace.It is a unique and special complex of several courtyards, buildings, pavilions, gardens, and temples. The most prominent and most visited structures in the complex are the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and the City Palace Museum.
The Observatory- Jantar Mantar, Jaipur is a collection of 19 astronomical instruments built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, Rajasthan.Jantar Mantar in Jaipur has captured the essence of many a wanderlust over the years. An open-air astronomical observatory, this UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the rare and timeless places of attraction in Jaipur, and the world.
With an illuminating history that predates modern civilization, this observatory was far ahead of its time and showcased the ancient ways of reading stars and skies.
Jaipur’s stone cutting tradition harks back to the early 18th century when the ruling Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II founded the city as the capital of Rajasthan. As a dedicated patron of the arts, he gathered the best artisans from all over India to cut gemstones and to craft jeweled sword hilts, Armour, jewellery and royal furniture. Jaipur’s stone cutters have earned a reputation for great skill and the city has become a centre for the gemstone trade.
