Padua is a very ancient Roman centre and counts with a number of important attractions. On this tour we'll cross its lively squares, which thanks to the colorful markets and the crowded coffeeshops represent the heart of the town. We'll visit Giotto's masterpiece called the Scrovegni Chapel, the University and St Anthony's basilica among other things but I'll take you also for a great coffee at the iconic Pedrocchi.
At the Giardini dell'Arena's gate (the gardens where the Chapel is located). This place is less than 10 minutes' walk from the train station.
Together with other medieval buildings this former private chapel is listed among UNESCO sites thanks to its frescoes.
The "Bo" is the 1500 seat of Padua's university, whose foundation though dates back to 1222.
A symbol of Padua, this magnificent building was the seat of the city courts.
Break for lunch. There are many choices between a nice pizza, a rich salad or a gourmet brunch at the Pedrocchi coffeehouse.
A nice walk along the main shopping street will take us to one of the largest squares in Europe.
"Il Santo", as this huge church is commonly called, is one of the most important sanctuaries in the world.

We had a wonderful three hour walk through Venice with Isabella. She gave an excellent overview of the history of the city. Her introduction was filled with endless and wonderful stories regarding the food, the history, the culture, the architecture, the politics, and the joys and difficulties of living in perhaps the most beautiful city ever built. She personalized our tour including a few specific and very personal interests. She introduced us to wonderful Venetian products with which we were not familiar, and pointed out several museums which we were not to miss. Overall, our visit was tremendously enhanced by this tour. Her English was wonderful. We enjoyed the time we spent with her, and when we return to northern Italy will likely ask her for future guidance. I honestly think she provided the best private tour I have ever experienced.
Chip Chip Chip! What a review! Thanks so much. You made my day. I really hope to meet you again in the near future! Best regards
